Why are 6000 series alloys a preferred choice for aluminum extrusions?

The 6000 series, which contains magnesium and silicon, is prized for its excellent extrudability, strength, corrosion resistance, machinability and formability – benefits that make it an International Extrusion specialty.

Can tight tolerances be achieved with aluminum extrusions?

Yes, aluminum extrusions are known for enabling much tighter tolerances than other materials.

This is especially true for International Extrusion, where we produce exacting tolerances, in line with each customer’s specifications. For more general information on this topic, view Aluminum Extrusion Council’s Tolerances Table.

How does the cost of tooling for aluminum extrusions compare to the costs of other materials and processes?

The cost of dies for aluminum extrusion is typically much lower than the cost of tooling for other procedures, such as die casting, forming, impact extrusion, stamping or vinyl extrusion.

What are your minimum order requirements at International Extrusion?

For your convenience, we accept a variety of order sizes starting from our 1,000-pound minimum. We will be happy to quote a price for you on your specific order.

What post-extrusion services do you offer?

We offer a variety of additional capabilities, from finishing services such as anodizing and wet paint to fabricating work that include precision cutting, punching, welding, CNC machining and more.

Where are your products manufactured?

We are an American-based company, and all of our aluminum extrusions are proudly manufactured right here, in the U.S.A. Furthermore, we diligently oversee every product we make and supply to our valued customers.

Is aluminum recyclable?

Yes, aluminum can be recycled over and over without any degradation in physical properties and is considered to be an environmentally friendly product that reduces the carbon footprint. The Aluminum Extruders Council reports that 75% of all aluminum produced since 1888 is still in productive use today.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept check, ACH, wire transfer, Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
